wonders of vietnam;
had a 12D11N trip to vietnam after exams were over.
to summarise the entire trip, i had a helluva fun, made new friends and enjoyed myself to the max, returning home totally shagged.

8mar to 11mar
met with bf, lover and lynnie at the airport for lunch before i flew off.
gathered at t1 and finally, it was time to enter transit.
did some crayon drawings with kris and daphne and then went to the gate to await boarding.
first stop: HANOI
when we landed, we went for dinner first before checking in.
must say, the hotel was much better than we expected.

during these days we ran ard the place (technically, in the bus) sightseeing and stuff.
took cyclo rides which were a helluva fun.
saw HCM's body, froze while waiting in line, laughed, talked and made new friends.
:D
went to Frasers Svs Apts for a visit, all decked out in formal wear and stuff, wobbling away on my heels.
fought to stay awake during the water puppet shows, ate a hell lot of rice with gravy..
got sick of all the spring onions and parsley in the food.
but still, i enjoyed my time in hanoi
11mar to 12mar
took a long long long bus ride down to Halong Bay.
i tell you, second time ive been to Halong Bay, but it's still gorgeous.
stayed on the Bhaya cruise and felt like royalty.
had like, ppl standing and awaiting our arrival with towels and awesome drinks.
and throwing rose petals down at us as we stepped through the entrance.
had massage on board and it was DAMN SHIOK.
haha
sat on sampan thingys through the fishing village, saw awesome scenery.
went into a cave of some sort, and managed not to fall.

and then we left after one night on board.
12mar to 15mar
these few days were spent in central vietnam; namely da nang, hoi an and hue.
wanted to tailor a few suits for meself but, there were time constraints.
at da nang, we visited Furama resort.
GORGEOUS place man, too bad we werent staying there.
haha.
the place we were staying at, lets just say it was horrendous.
the name? Glory Hotel.
yeah yeah, it sounds ok, but to me, it was a totally FREAKY place..
brr
let's recount:
we arrived in the night.
the hotel was typical chinese style with heavy wooden furnishings, pillar etc.
it comprised of two buildings: the main one and a U-shaped one at the back.
unfortunately, i was staying in the U-shaped one.
not to fear! for there were others staying there too!
but wait, OH NO! only 2 rooms were on the other side, ON THE SECOND LEVEL.

walking towards the lift, that building had RED LANTERNS.
i mean WTF?! errr, okkkk
if not freaky enough, the lift opened to a HUGE ASS mirror facing us.
right so next.. we had to WALK THROUGH this long DARK corridor (CANNOT INSTALL BRIGHTER LIGHTS ISSIT?!) with those huge WOODEN windows facing half jungles, and half houses, mostly dark with the exception on one WITH flickering lights.
O.O
nevermind, let's go on to the room.
it was pitch black. totally freaky with sliding door facing the houses opposite.
i immediately shut the curtains after we opened the door (after having problems unlocking it)
the beds were hard and to top it off, there was these 2 chairs facing the beds.
freaky much?! imagine in the dark with those 2 chairs facing us?!
and let's go on to.. THE CUPBOARD!
it was this old battered thing, to which when we opened, two oriental robes were inside.
one was hanging on its hanger, SWAYING, while the other lay crumpled in a heap on the floor.
that was just totally eerie.
and the shower curtain was drawn shut.
we were terrified.
srsly, descriptions does no justice to the freakiness.
you'd have to be there to experience it..

after countless complaints, mr ron decided to switch hotels.
at first the manager refused to let us go, prompting a huge argument.
but ohwell, it was resolved :D
the next hotel was like TONS BETTER.
Pacific Hotel or sth.
btw, we were in Hoi An.
sightseeing in Hoi An and Da Nang..
climbed the Marble Mountain..
crawled through holes and well, great exercise. lol
then we shopping in the night.
nice place to walk ard with LOTSA STUFF TO SEE AND BUY!

went swimming in the hotel (in the night) when we returned.
next day, we headed to Hue by bus.
as normal, lunched when we reached then sightseeing again.
took a boat ride along the perfume river..
walked ard Hue a bit when we returned and that's about all.
btw, mr ron cut his hair xD

and ohyah!
they went out gambling and stuff
and i had to hide myself in jeremy's room cos my room mate went to gamble too

15mar to 19mar
took a flight to HCMC.
this was prolly the WORST FLIGHT ever.
one row of aircon were spoilt so only ONE ROW was functioning.
have you any idea how warm it was in central vietnam alr?!
nothing like hanoi in the beginning.
and it only GOT WARMER

spent my time fanning myself and amusing myself with kristal and jeremy to keep my mind off the heat..
HCMC was HUMID alrrrr. and cloudless too!!
i could walk ard in a tank top and still sweat.
as we arrived slightly late and the timing were all mixed up, we had to go to the Hyatt without our formal wear.
cant say that we were too disappointed in that.

the food there was AWESOME though!!!
our hotel was good too - Liberty Hotel 3.. :D
next day was at PSB college in FORMAL WEAR where we had our presentation.
if not for my crapy voice that day, i think it'd have gone well.
haha
then to SAB Miller in our formal wear.
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW FUCKING HOT IT WAS?!!!
but yay for free beer after that!
WOOOOOO
the next day, MORE SIGHTSEEING.
YIPEE! -.-
but it was at the cuchi tunnels this time round.
afraid of triggerring an asthma attack, i decided not to go through..
so i was the urm, designated bag carried along with a few others.
haha
DINNER WAS AWESOME THOUGH.
on this bonsai cruise thing.

FREE AND EASY the day after!
we took our time waking up, eating and walking ard HCMC.
technically, we took cabs since they were fucking cheap over there.
like, less than 2bucks?!

and clarence spent his time in the casino
le sigh
shopped, but i didnt buy much..
then met for the gala dinner.
dinner wasnt so good.
but ohwell, what to do?
lol
then went to the night market..
and then some of us headed back to hotel while the me and like, shawn, kris, drl and wx went to the casino.
actually, i drank, didnt play.
haha
and then went back to celebrate weyjian's bday.
after that, i went to take my shower, while my roommate went to soak in a bath tub.
so i ended up in the lobby chatting with meitong till she finished..
then proceeded to camp in jeremy's room.
like, till morning.
morning time, wakey wakey.
checked out, little bit more sightseeing and we were on our way back home.
reached back home, lunched with the fam and was SOOOO SLEEPY.
but, ohwell.

btw, bought like, lotsa beer from duty free
xD
anyway, i think i drank a lot on this trip!
and i'm too lazy to add on any more so.
